Product details

The Bucephalandra brownie ‘Ghost’ is a rare and highly sought-after aquatic plant, prized for its captivating, dark green leaves that sometimes exhibit an iridescent, ghostly shimmer. This in-vitro version is grown in sterile conditions, ensuring a pest-free, healthy plant that’s ready to be introduced to your aquarium. Its slow growth and striking appearance make it perfect for aquascapers looking to add a unique touch to their tanks.

Key Features:

  • Unique Appearance: The ‘Ghost’ variant features dark green to almost black leaves with a subtle iridescence that can shift depending on the light, creating a mesmerizing “ghostly” effect.
  • Slow-Growing: Bucephalandra brownie ‘Ghost’ grows slowly, requiring minimal maintenance while providing long-lasting beauty in your aquascape.
  • In-Vitro Cultivation: Sterile, in-vitro cultivation guarantees that the plant is free from snails, algae, and other pests, making it a safe addition to any tank.
  • Versatile Planting Options: This plant can be attached to hardscape elements like driftwood or rocks, making it a great addition to any aquascape design.

Care Requirements:

  • Lighting: This plant thrives in low to moderate light conditions, allowing its leaves to develop their unique ghostly shimmer. High lighting may cause algae to grow on the leaves, so it’s best kept in low-light setups or shaded areas of the tank.
  • CO2: While CO2 is not required, its addition can enhance the growth and health of the plant, making it more vibrant in higher-tech setups.
  • Water Parameters: Bucephalandra brownie ‘Ghost’ is very adaptable, thriving in a wide range of water conditions. Optimal water parameters include a pH range of 6.0-7.5 and temperatures between 22-28°C.
  • Trimming: With its slow growth rate, Bucephalandra brownie ‘Ghost’ requires minimal trimming. You can propagate the plant by dividing its rhizome.

Planting Tips:

  • Rinse the plant thoroughly to remove the nutrient gel before planting.
  • It’s best to attach Bucephalandra brownie ‘Ghost’ to driftwood or rocks, as it will slowly anchor itself and spread over time. Avoid burying the rhizome to prevent rot.
  • This plant thrives in shaded areas of the aquarium, where it can develop its characteristic ghostly appearance.
