Product details

The Rotala rotundifolia ‘H’ra’ is a captivating aquatic plant known for its slender, needle-like leaves that exhibit shades of red, orange, and pink under optimal conditions. It is a popular choice in aquascaping for adding a vibrant splash of color to the midground or background of tanks. Grown in-vitro, this plant is delivered free from pests, algae, and contaminants, ensuring a clean and healthy start for your aquarium.

Key Features:

  • Vibrant Red-Orange Leaves: When provided with strong lighting and CO2, Rotala ‘H’ra’ displays striking red to orange leaves, making it a colorful focal point in aquascapes.
  • Slender, Bushy Growth: Its slender, elongated leaves grow densely, creating a bushy, textured appearance that adds depth and contrast in the aquarium.
  • In-Vitro Cultivation: Grown in sterile conditions, this plant is free from snails, algae, and harmful pathogens, ensuring a safe start for your tank.
  • Versatile Aquascaping: Rotala ‘H’ra’ can be used for both midground and background placement, depending on the desired height and trimming.

Care Requirements:

  • Lighting: Rotala ‘H’ra’ requires medium to high lighting to develop its vibrant red and orange hues. Insufficient light may result in greener leaves and slower growth.
  • CO2: While not strictly necessary, CO2 supplementation is highly recommended to maintain vibrant colors and promote faster, more compact growth. Without CO2, the plant may grow taller and less dense.
  • Water Parameters: This plant thrives in slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 5.5-7.5 and temperatures between 22-28°C. Nutrient-rich substrate and water will support optimal growth and coloration.
  • Trimming: Regular trimming is essential to maintain its bushy form and encourage side shoots. Trimmed stems can be replanted to propagate new plants, helping to fill out the aquascape.

Planting Tips:

  • Rinse the plant thoroughly to remove any nutrient gel before planting.
  • Plant Rotala ‘H’ra’ in nutrient-rich substrate, spaced evenly in the midground or background for a full, bushy appearance.
  • Ensure medium to high lighting and CO2 supplementation for the best results, promoting vibrant colors and lush, compact growth.
