Non-livestock items are returnable within 7 days upon purchasing. If the item is found to be in working condition, the client will be liable to cover ALL shipping fees. If items is faulty, a full refund or replacement will take place and shipping will be covered by Aqua Atlantis.

Rotala sp. ‘Blood Red’

Rotala sp. ‘Blood Red’ is a visually striking aquatic plant, renowned for its vibrant red color under optimal conditions. This plant is particularly favored in aquascaping for its ability to add a splash of color and contrast to aquariums. The leaves are narrow and can turn from green to a deep red or burgundy, depending on the lighting and nutrient levels.

Rotala ‘Blood Red’ demands high lighting to achieve its characteristic red coloration. It also benefits significantly from CO2 supplementation, which enhances its growth and color intensity. This plant is somewhat more challenging than others due to its specific needs but can be rewarding in terms of aesthetic appeal.

Care Tips:

Temperature: Keep water temperature between 20-28°C with a pH range of 5.5-7.0 for the best growth.
Lighting: High light intensity is crucial for maintaining its red color. Without adequate light, the leaves might revert to green.
CO2: CO2 injection is highly recommended for optimal color and growth. In setups without CO2, expect slower growth and less vivid color.
Nutrients: Ensure the substrate is rich in nutrients, or use liquid fertilizers, as Rotala ‘Blood Red’ is a heavy feeder.
Pruning: Regular trimming is necessary to manage its growth and to promote bushier, denser growth rather than leggy stems.

Ideal Placement in Aquarium: Due to its height and color, Rotala sp. ‘Blood Red’ is best suited for the midground to background in an aquarium. It creates a vivid contrast against green plants and can be used to draw the eye towards specific areas of the aquascape. Its growth habit makes it excellent for creating depth and layering in planted tanks. RETURNS:
We don’t accept any returns on livestock. (PLANTS,AQUATIC, ANIMALS)

Non-livestock items are returnable within 7 days upon purchasing. If the item is found to be in working condition, the client will be liable to cover ALL shipping fees. If items is faulty, a full refund or replacement will take place and shipping will be covered by Aqua Atlantis .
Returns after 7 days will be subject to a handeling fee of 10% and the client will remain responsible for for shipping.
Waranty claims: Items will be collected from the client or brought back to Aqua Atlantis and sent directly to the suppliers. If the item is found to be in working condition, the client will be liable for ALL shipping fees. If the item/product is faulty, a replacement unit will be sent to the client.
We will not accept any returns on any products that are not to the buyers liking after 7 days of purchase.
We reserve the right to cancel any order and refund the customer for whatever reason we see necessary.

Shipping Charges:

The Courier Guy (R120 – R500) – Depending on what you order. If there are additional shipping charges, this will be communicated to you after you have placed your order.

We can Ship dry goods such as: hardscape, soils, gravels, nano tanks, filtration etc, using the locker to locker pudo service for only R80.
Local Collections (cape town)- free.
If you select courier at checkout that is not overnight/priority shipping for plants Aqua Atlantis will not be held liable for any losses that may occur.
We will ONLY Ship aquaticanimals using the express Shipping method.
