Marsilea Hirsuta is a carpeting foreground aquatic plant choice. It is well-known for its foliage that resembles a four-leaf clover. Once the plant is submerged, its growth pattern is susceptible to change depending upon the planted aquarium tank’s parameters. New leaves sprouted are brown coloration and should not be mistaken for rotting or dead leaves as they will gain color upon maturing. Marsilea Hirsuta is generally hardy and easy to keep and grow. It can adapt to most aquarium conditions and will spread steadily if given optimal conditions.
This plant grows by spreading runners horizontally throughout the substrate. Lighting and CO2 injection are essential in keeping the growth short and compact. Propagation is simple, trim along the runners and replant.
