Smooth Gliders with a Unique Look

The Penguin Tetra is a sleek and peaceful freshwater fish named for its upright, tail-first swimming style — resembling a penguin gliding through water. With a shimmering silver body and a bold black stripe that runs from behind the gills down through the tail, this tetra stands out with subtle beauty and a touch of the unexpected.

A calm and hardy schooling species, Penguin Tetras do best in groups of 6 or more and thrive in well-maintained planted tanks. They are great community fish and pair well with other peaceful species.
