This beautiful variant of Cryptocoryne wendtii from Mi Oya River on Sri Lanka has characteristic reddish-brown slightly bullous lanceolate submersed leaves with an undulate margin. It can grow to a height of 20-35 cm, however, under lots of light it spreads more.
It is as easy to cultivate as other variants of the time-tested C. wendtii, and it tolerates temperatures of over 30 °C. Its emerged leaves are mainly green, however, under water the plant assumes the habit described above.
