Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse
Labroides dimidiatus
The Bluestreak Cleaner Wrasse is a fascinating and active reef fish known for its striking appearance and unique symbiotic behavior. This slender, torpedo-shaped wrasse features a bold black “racing stripe” running from nose to tail, framed by electric blue and white flanks that shimmer in the light. Beyond its beauty, this fish plays a functional role on the reef—cleaning parasites and dead tissue from tankmates, earning its name and reputation.
In the wild, Cleaner Wrasses set up “cleaning stations” where larger fish line up to be serviced. While captivating in captivity, they require experienced care and proper tank conditions to thrive long term.
