Glossostigma eliatinoides
Glossostigma Elatinoides is another popular low-growing aquatic plant that is commonly used as a foreground carpet in planted aquariums. Glossostigma Elatinoides, typically referred to as Glosso for short, is one of the easier foreground carpeting aquarium plants to grow and doesn’t require extensive experience to keep. Like most carpeting aquarium plants, Glosso’s growth is improved with the addition of CO2 injection, nutrient-dense aquarium soil, and a source of nutrients from aquarium plant fertilizers. Glossostigma Elatinoides may be planted in a low-tech aquarium as well. However, it should be noted that it will take much longer to spread and has the tendency to grow upwards to reach for lighting sources if levels are insufficient. Once established, Glosso is a prolific grower and will require periodic trimming.
