Product details

The Bucephalandra sp. ‘Kedagang’ is a rare and visually striking aquatic plant native to the streams and rivers of Borneo. This plant is renowned for its long, narrow leaves, which display deep green to bronze hues, often with a subtle metallic sheen. Grown in-vitro, it is delivered free of pests, algae, and pathogens, ensuring a healthy and clean start for your aquascape.

Key Features:

  • Unique Leaf Shape: ‘Kedagang’ features long, narrow, and slightly wavy leaves, giving it a distinct appearance compared to other Bucephalandra varieties. The leaf color can range from deep green to a bronze hue, with a subtle metallic sheen under aquarium lighting.
  • Low-Maintenance: This slow-growing plant requires minimal upkeep, making it perfect for low-tech setups or aquariums where frequent trimming is not desired.
  • In-Vitro Cultivation: Grown in sterile conditions, the plant is free from pests, algae, and contaminants, making it safe for immediate introduction to your aquarium.
  • Great for Hardscaping: Its narrow leaves and compact growth make it ideal for attaching to driftwood or rocks, adding texture and color contrast to aquascapes.

Care Requirements:

  • Lighting: Prefers low to moderate lighting to prevent algae from developing on its leaves. The plant will thrive in shaded areas or under low-light setups, where its colors can develop fully.
  • CO2: While not essential, CO2 supplementation will improve growth and enhance the plant’s coloration and health, especially in high-tech tanks.
  • Water Parameters: Bucephalandra ‘Kedagang’ is adaptable to a wide range of water conditions, with an ideal pH of 6.0-7.5 and temperatures between 22-28°C.
  • Trimming: Due to its slow growth, trimming is rarely required. Propagation is easy through rhizome division, allowing the plant to spread gradually over time.

Planting Tips:

  • Rinse the plant thoroughly to remove the nutrient gel before placing it in your aquarium.
  • ‘Kedagang’ is best attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape elements where it will slowly anchor itself. Ensure the rhizome is not buried, as this can lead to rot.
  • The plant’s long, narrow leaves make it an excellent choice for aquascaping, providing height and structure without overwhelming the tank.
