  • Aquascaping Favorite: Riccia fluitans can be used in various ways to create unique visual effects, whether as a floating plant or anchored for carpeting or vertical scaping.

Care Requirements:

  • Lighting: Riccia fluitans thrives in medium to high lighting conditions, which promote dense, compact growth and help maintain its vibrant green color.
  • CO2: While it can grow without CO2, adding CO2 will boost growth and help create a more compact and lush carpet or cluster when attached to hardscape elements.
  • Water Parameters: This plant prefers slightly acidic to neutral water, with a pH range of 5.0-7.5 and temperatures between 15-28°C. It is adaptable and can thrive in various conditions with proper care.

Planting Tips:

  • Rinse the plant thoroughly to remove the nutrient gel before introducing it to your aquarium.
  • For floating use, simply place Riccia fluitans on the water’s surface. To create a carpet or wall, tie the plant to rocks, driftwood, or mesh, where it will naturally grow and spread.
  • Ensure medium to high lighting and CO2 supplementation for faster growth and a denser, vibrant look.
